Born in Versailles but raised all around the world, Blandine Attey is a self taught artist who recently moved to the French Alps, leaving behind her careers as a lawyer in France and an estate agent in London to concentrate on her life long passion: painting.

“As a young girl, living in the Comoro Islands, she already drew sharks and crocodiles (…) She says having experienced an artistic choc at the age of 17 meeting the painter Hundertwasser at the Gauguin Museum of Tahiti”. She knew at that moment that art would play a major role in her life. (The Dauphiné Libéré, 12 Déc 2013).

Her current body of work explores the processes of spiritual growth. She focuses greatly on the symbolism of trees, thinking of them as allegories of souls.

“With their feet on the earth, they are reaching for the sky, and their branches evoke wounds and battles or look like helpful loving hands enjoying life; some bear fruit or not, some get covered in white snow, symbol of purity, renewal or death". (Blandine Attey)

“I am a contemplative of the beauty of the world and I put in my work a spiritual touch. My work goes to the essential and asks real questions (…). Other works show people in a rather abstract manner, reduced to their spiritual dimension, souls often looking for a sense and a direction in their life”. (The Dauphiné Libéré, 12 Déc 2013).

She draws her inspiration from the beauty that surrounds her in the French Alps and her many travels especially in the UK, Scotland, and Provence, and from her rich spiritual life.

“Life is a battle between love and hatred, between life and death, between joy and despair, and all of my work is based on this battle for the souls. All my paintings are in fact landscapes of the soul. Everything can be a source of inspiration, the perfection of nature, a visit to a Museum, a beautiful stained glass in a church, a well filmed scene in a film, all sorts of people and the spirit of childhood with its innocence, humility, creativity and joy of living.” (Blandine Attey)

Blandine Attey’s work is already present in many private collections all around the world, including Latvia, the USA, France, Switzerland, and the UK.
